This will be expanded with more detailed information from owners.
Why consider using a pet sitter:
Convenience, Convenience, Convenience! When you use a professional insured and bonded pet sitter, you do not have to drive to a boarding facility, or worry about getting your pets stressed out when you are getting ready to leave for your dream vacation getaway, or that important business trip.
Peace of Mind:
You don’t have to worry about how your dog is doing when you have to be away from your home.
No Need to Rely on Family, or Neighbors:
Family members and neighbors may be out of town, or working across town and be unavailable to help care for your pets on a timely basis.
Normalcy of Environment and Diet is Maintained:
Your pets stay in the comfort and safety of your own home, eat their usual meals and sleep in their own comfy bed, or favorite sleeping spot. Keeping your pet on their normal daily routine helps to ensure that a happy and stress-free pet greets you upon your return home!
Relocation Stress is Completely Eliminated:
Since your pets stay in their own home, there is no stress associated with transporting them to and from a noisy kennel, or boarding facility.
No Cramped or Uncomfortable Crates:
Even large boarding crates/cages can sometimes be too cramped, or uncomfortable for some pets. When your pets stay at home, they are less stressed out because their surroundings are familiar. They also have more room to move around and play in an environment they feel safe in.
Custom Services are Available:
Custom care services can be arranged to meet your needs and the needs of your pets. Can provide custom exercise services, like “in-your-pool” swimming and pool playtime activities for dogs, or extra long walks of five miles or more.
In addition to providing compassionate care for your pets, the visits can include extra value added services like bringing in the mail and any delivered packages, alternating interior lights and curtains, providing daily email reports with pictures or videos or your pets, taking out the trash and basic pool care like emptying the skimmers, or removing floating debris with your pool cleaning net.

Personal story of use from an ME dog owner: (actually this is us)
We have used wonderful pet sitters for the 5 years we have had our adopted by owner surrender ME GSD Gretyl. One helps run the front desk of our veterinarians office and that makes her also valuable in knowing our DVM and having much easier access to him in case of an emergency if we are out of town. Our other one is great too and can cover the times needed. They split the times they visit, but the first one does stay overnight so we never change the schedule for our dogs. In starting this process and having an ME dog, we did the following: (giving general info but hope to add specifics later for more detail)
– Wrote and printed hard copy of the steps for feeding our ME dog but also all of them same time and place
– Had the girls come over together to see how we did everything from making and storing the food to feeding everyone
– Scheduled test runs and had them come individually to first make sure they could get into the house, then to have them care for and feed them (this worked out great and I watched from a neighbors house with each visit only from outside)
– Took our first vacation staying within 1 hour but 3 days and 2 nights
– Asked for pics and texts to make sure everything went well
We have been doing this for 5 years and works like a charm. The dogs all love the 2 ladies so much we can say their names and they run to the front door looking for them. Both play with them, pick up poop, can make meals, feed using exact protocols for all, etc. and they love the dogs as much as the dogs love them. This alleviates having to try to board or asking friends and family who are not comfortable caring for an ME dog.
